After three years of the Foundation’s humanitarian services in the riverine communities of Nigeria, CROWEF/EWEF was officially launched in Warri on the 20th May, 2010 at Mom Civic Centre.

The occasion was well attended by prominent chieftaincy titled elders, community leaders, elderly men, women and youths in and around Warri city. Also in attendance were representatives of private and public organizations as well as partnering NGOs like West African Women Association (WAWA), Women care Associate of Nigeria (WOCAN), Michael and Cecilia Foundation, Warri Ladies Peace Forum etc.

The Special Guest of Honour for the occasion was Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Dere Awosika(Who was then, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Interior, Abuja). The Guest Lecturer was Prof. Tony Afejuku (Uniben) who delivered the inaugural launch lecture, tagged: “Keeping Hope Alive” in the Niger Delta region.

The Foundation also used the occasion to present an Award to organizations and individuals that have one way or the other contributed to the activities of the Foundation and have affected the lives of the less privileged in the Niger Delta communities. The Award is titled “Service to Humanity Award”.
